Our weekly music classes, for children aged 0-3 with their caregiver, are a chance to come together to celebrate the unlimited potential of every child. Our classes are run by highly trained Suzuki teachers and offer a calm, structured, nurturing space, for you to engage with your little one through music.

We are now able to offer face to face classes as well as our online classes. To book for this half term, please fill in the class booking form. Classes run face to face on Tuesday mornings and online on Thursday mornings

“If a child is raised in an atmosphere with beautiful music, he will become a person of noble character, fine sensibility and excellent ability.”

— Shinichi Suzuki

The beautiful SECE curriculum of nursery rhymes and action songs was created by Dorothy Jones, and uses the teaching philosophy of renowned pedagogue Shinichi Suzuki. Although many musical concepts are mastered within the classes, it was not Suzuki’s primary aim to create master musicians, but rather ‘human beings with beautiful, harmonious minds and high sensitivity’. We believe that by using the highest quality musical instruments, children are given the earliest opportunity to appreciate beauty, to treat the instruments with respect, and to play them properly, creating a beautiful sound themselves.

The classes are led by trained SECE teacher, Laura Wingrove, and are supported by a partner teacher. To find out more about our teachers, please click here. Class sizes are small to allow each and every child to flourish. Parents are supported at every stage of the journey, but most especially at journal time at the end of the class, where the opportunity to celebrate each new development gives a sense of pride and accomplishment. By working together with parents through the SECE program, we have the enormous responsibility and privilege of creating sensitive, caring and noble human beings.
